Google – Experiments With Fading Homepage
According to techcrunch and their sources, it appears Google is today experimenting with a brand new face lift.
The new design is quite a significant change from the homepage we’re used to, Google’s minimalism shines through as a single word search page, with the usual content fading in/out on mouse movement. A few noticeable omission’s from the new homepage include the “Google Search” and the “I’m feeling Lucky” buttons.
Are you lucky enough to trailing the new design today? Chances are not. In what is termed a bucket test, only a few users actually get access to the new design, of which there is apparently a few versions. Oh and if you don’t like it, don’t worry you won’t have to switch to bing, not just because that will always look like crap, but because the design may never get the final go ahead.
